About Shades

Shades Music opened its doors Christmas 2007, in the heart of Moseley. The building the shop is situated in was once the home of JJR Tolkien. The shop mostly caters for beginners and medium level musicians, this is because above the shop are the tuition rooms for over 200 students. Shades Music can also order in most products and most brands for any standard of musician and this normally takes a couple of days. The shop is family run with Chris Poole the owner, father Steve Poole who managers the shop, Chris’s mom, Margo Poole who helps keep the shop nice and clean and Chris’s sister Amy Poole, who works mostly Saturdays. The shop has a warm feel to the place and often parents will sit and have a cuppa while their children have a lesson.

The online shop has just started and instead of throwing on all products under the sun (like most online shops do) we are adding products slowly to make sure we are one of the best priced shops around.

Prices online will be cheaper than our in store prices and this is for obvious reasons such as all the over head costs of running a high street shop.
